An inbox-focused workshop to create more ease in our inboxes and build more awareness around what we receive and maintain there.
Email is such an embedded part of daily life for many of us, but we rarely find space to think critically about how we engage with it.
With a bit of effort, we can find ways to maintain our inbox that support us rather than overwhelm us—and we can start by devoting time to more carefully notice what's coming into our inboxes.
With greater awareness of what we're allowing in our inboxes—even if mostly passively, we can feel more agency over what we allow in the future.
Let's go into the weekend feeling a bit better about the state of our inboxes!
Friday, February 23, 2023
3:00 – 4:00 PM EST
Live on Zoom
Join me and others for a workshop where we'll each take a closer look at our inboxes. What we use the time for is up to each of us:
Want to delete unread subscription emails with abandon? Go for it!
Want to evaluate the current state of your inbox and determine what emails you’d like to stop receiving? Yes!
Want to use the time to actually unsubscribe from unwanted emails? Woohoo! 🎉
Want to take note of how much of this tool for communication you actually use for 2-way communication? Love that for you.
I'll share some optional prompts or tools to help you simplify, evaluate the value of subscriptions, unsubscribe, etc.
Format:
• Brief introduction and explanation of ways to use the time
• Time for independent evaluation and cleanup
• Reflection on the experience through group discussion
How to prepare:
Choose one email inbox you want to evaluate (e.g., personal, business, school, etc.).
Be able to be on the Zoom call AND review your inbox—on the same screen, a second screen, or a second device. (e.g., Join Zoom from your computer, and open your inbox on a phone or tablet, or vice versa.)
Have some paper/pen or a favorite note-taking app available for jotting as needed.
Let's create some space to observe our inboxes and see what we learn or free up!
This is a free event. If you find value in it, you’re welcome to buy me a coffee afterwards. :)
